adriana moreno
Brasil, 1989

The work of Adriana Moreno gains its strength from the physical body of its materials. Her lithographic recordings seek to translate three-dimensional objects, which leave their mere representations to become simulacra charged with some essence of visible form.

GRAVURA INVESTIGATIVA

Moreno’s entire collection at Artboom is founded on the investigation of the fields of drawing and engraving in relation to their material possibilities, including the tusche - a greasy bar-shaped material which, in order to be used, must be diluted with water.

For Adriana what matters in her work is the integration of a physical event into a drawing, the idea of chance as an expression of our unconscious.

For those who observe, there remains several posterior interpretations, something that is only possible in solid works of art.
